Section 608 Technician Certification is required by the EPA in order to purchase CFC, HCFC, HFC or HFO refrigerants.
Students will study required material related to the theory of operations, service and maintenance of HVACR systems including: air conditioning (comfort cooling) systems, heat pumps, different types of heating systems and refrigeration systems.
The material will also include shop safety protocols, leak detection, refrigerant recovery and recycle, disposal of refrigerants' containing appliances, combustion testing and analysis, parts of the National Fuel Gas Code (NFGC) related to the job.
Hands on-training will reinforce material covered in theory classes. Computer based training is also provided for self-paced study opportunities.
Now includes OSHA10 training.
